Pack-A-Punch

Overview

To activate the Pack-a-Punch machine, you'll need to gather Ted's head, attach it to Old Tessie (the truck), use Tessie to travel to two different locations (Vandorn Farms/Blackwater Lake and Ashwood), activate a power pump at each location by clearing fungus from a machine, and finally, drive Tessie into the garage at Ashwood to fully activate the Pack-a-Punch.

Step 1: Obtain Ted's Head

• Start the match by killing zombies to earn points.
• Once you have enough points (750), open the door in the spawn area to access the Server Room.
• Inside, locate a marker on the floor.
• Melee the marker to break it, revealing Ted's Head.
• Pick up Ted's Head by holding your interact key.

Step 2: Activate Old Tessie

• Bring Ted's Head outside to the truck, known as Old Tessie.
• Attach Ted's Head to Tessie by holding your interact key.
• Once attached, Tessie will become active and ready to drive.

Step 3: Drive to the First Power Pump

• Get inside Old Tessie. Note that Tessie has limited health; if damaged by zombies, it will go on cooldown to heal.
• Avoid red spores on the ground as they act like landmines and will damage Tessie.
• Drive over green spores to heal Tessie.
• Break through one of the sets of wooden barriers in the spawn area using Tessie.
• Choose your first destination: either Vandorn Farms (straight ahead/left from spawn) or Blackwater Lake (right from spawn) . The choice does not affect the process.
• Critical Tip: Do not exit Tessie while driving between points of interest (POIs), as zombies are super sprinters and will quickly overwhelm you. If Tessie is heavily damaged and catches fire, get out and repair it by holding your interact key, then quickly re-enter.

Step 4: Activate the First Power Pump

• Once you arrive at either Vandorn Farms or Blackwater Lake, exit Tessie.
• Locate the large machine with fungus growing on it.
• Shoot off all the fungus blobs from the sides of the machine.
• After clearing the sides, a large fungus blob will appear on top of the machine; shoot this off as well.
• You must clear all fungus within a 30-second timer. If you fail, you'll need to wait until the next round to reactivate the machine and try again.
• Upon successful completion, the machine will send out a pulse, killing nearby zombies, and the power switch will become activatable.
• Locate the power switch:
• At Vandorn Farm: It's upstairs in the barn (requires buying the door).
• At Blackwater Lake: It's upstairs in the cabin (requires buying the door).
• Activate the power switch.

Step 5: Drive to Ashwood

• Re-enter Tessie.
• Drive towards Ashwood, which is the central area of the map.
• If you came from Vandorn Farm, continue past it towards Ashwood rather than returning to spawn.

Step 6: Activate the Second Power Pump

• Upon arriving at Ashwood, go up the zipline to access the bridge area.
• Proceed across the bridge. You'll encounter another large machine with fungus.
• Repeat the process from Step 4: shoot off all fungus blobs from the sides and then the top within the 30-second timer.
• Activate the power switch overlooking the bridge.

Step 7: Activate the Pack-a-Punch Machine

• Return to Tessie below the bridge. Be careful when descending; slide onto structures or use ziplines to avoid excessive fall damage.
• Drive Tessie into the garage at Ashwood.
• Tessie will begin to auto-repair inside the garage. [SCREENSHOT:05:07]
• Exit Tessie and go to the craftable table nearby to activate the Pack-a-Punch machine.
• The Pack-a-Punch machine will now be permanently attached to Tessie's back.

Tips for Early Game Efficiency

• Maximize Points: In early rounds (1-2), use your dedicated melee weapon and aim for critical hits on zombies to earn more points.
• Perk Machines: Lie down in front of perk machines before buying them to receive additional points.
• Co-op Strategy: In co-op, Tessie can hold four players. Teammates not driving can shoot out of the truck to clear ravagers and protect Tessie.
• Weapon Rarity: In Black Ops Cold War Zombies, weapon rarity is crucial. Consider spinning the Mystery Box or buying a high-rarity wall weapon initially, even before Pack-a-Punching your starting weapon.
• Salvage Farming: Pack-a-Punch your knife first. Use the Pack-a-Punched knife for one-hit kills (for early rounds) and to earn salvage. Continuously trade out weapons from the Mystery Box or wall buys with Chompy (the salvage machine) for more salvage. This allows you to accumulate resources early for higher-rarity weapons and upgrades later.
• Use Tacticals: Utilize tactical grenades (stun, smoke, etc.) to help clear fungus from the machines during power pump activation.
